The Health Council of South Florida, in partnership with the Broward Regional Health Planning Council,  is now offering the Florida Health Data Warehouse to area hospitals on a subscription basis.

The Florida Health Data Warehouse offers unparalleled access to the Agency for Health Care Administration hospital inpatient and emergency department data files, and is a valuable tool to/for:

• Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) planning to target initiatives
• Set increased access and quality benchmarks
• Identify areas for quality improvement
• Establish healthcare system delivery policies
• Develop programs to address need 

This web-based data warehouse and analytic engine includes three major query modules:

Medical Services/DRGs Database

The Medical Services/DRG Database is a decision support tool for healthcare providers and planners that allows you to quickly run customized reports by hospital medical services such as cardiology, cardio-vascular surgery, orthopedics, obstetrics, or urology including DRG level detail by selected hospitals in your area using the Florida AHCA hospital inpatient data file. View discharges, average length of stay, charges, by age range, payer sources, gender, admission sources, and more.

Health Indicators Database 

The Health Indicators Database addresses community-based targeted initiatives to increase healthcare access while decreasing inappropriate ED utilization and avoidable hospital admissions. and includes:

• Prevention Quality Indicators/Avoidable Admission
• Pediatric Quality Indicators/Avoidable Admission
• Inpatient Chronic Conditions (ICD-9)
• Self Inflicted Injury Incidence
• ED Acuity Stratification (CPT)
• NYU Algorithm ED Preventable/Avoidable

Medical Facilities Utilization Reporting System

The Medical Facilities Utilization Reporting System is an information and decision support tool for healthcare providers and planners. It allows you to quickly run customized reports on hospital utilization by bed type as well as other hospital based services such as surgery, ancillary procedures and emergency department visits. Comparison reports among hospitals in your community are also available.

• Acute Care, Comprehensive Medical Rehabilitation, Psychiatric, Substance Abuse Utilization

Additionally, a Nursing Home Utilization data report tracking patient days by payer source is available from the Health Council of South Florida. This report is available on a quarterly basis.
