The AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) Wrap-Around Pilot Program (AWAPP) is a Florida Department of Health, Bureau of HIV/AIDS, program for Medicare Part “D” clients who are eligible for ADAP and have incomes between 135%-150% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) AWAPP provides clients with assistance in the payment of their out-of pocket Medicare Part “D” Pharmacy and deductible expenses.
AWAPP provides annual deductible and co-insurance assistance to qualified Medicare Part “D” beneficiaries. Upon approval, clients receive an AWAPP member pharmacy card to present to their pharmacy provider when obtaining their prescription drug benefits. Particpating pharmacy providers invoice the Health Council of South Florida, Inc. (Council) for the client’s deductible, co-insurance and drug co-payments.
- The program pays up to $50 towards the annual deductible.
- The program covers 15% of co-insurance assistance until catastrophic coverage is reached up to $5,100.
- The program covers $2 and $5 co-payments once the $5,100 is met.
In order to qualify for AWAPP, clients must meet the HIV/AIDS Patient Care Program Eligibility criteria and possess income not to exceed 135% and 150% of the FPL. Applicants must have Medicare Part “A”, “B”, and “D”coverage and qualify for the Low Income Subsidy through the Social Security Administration. Applicants should not have a secondary private health policy nor should the applicant have Medicaid.
