Miami-Dade County Hospital Preparedness Consortium

The Miami-Dade County Hospital Preparedness Consortium represents a multidisciplinary group which assisted the county in developing strategic priorities and executing preparedness focused on strengthening preparedness and response. The Consortium also developed standardized protocols through emergency preparedness planning, training and evaluation among local hospitals and with intersectoral emergency response groups at the local, state and national levels.

Programs Goals

​

  • Promoted emergency preparedness in healthcare settings.

  • Cultivated communication between county level organizations on community-wide emergency planning and response.

  • Coordinated and improve the delivery of healthcare emergency response activities.

  • Developed a Hospital Preparedness Plan for Miami-Dade County providing an outline/blueprint for countywide preparedness and response activities among hospitals for pandemic influenza, avian flu, hurricanes, and all hazard.
