The Health Council of South Florida, Inc. (Council) announces two upcoming vacancies on its Board of Directors to represent Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties. Council Board members advise the agency on health care issues and resource allocations; promote public awareness of community health needs, emphasizing health promotion and cost-effective health service selection; and assist the agency and other state agencies in carrying out data collection activities. The following positions are available:


Miami-Dade County: Healthcare Provider: Means a health care professional licensed under chapter 458, chapter 459, chapter 460, chapter 461, chapter 463, chapter 464, chapter 465, chapter 466, part I, part III, part IV, part V, or part X of chapter 468, chapter 483, chapter 484, chapter 486, chapter 490, or chapter 491.


Monroe County: Healthcare Consumer: Defined as any person other than a person who administers health activities, is a member of the governing body of a health care facility, provides health services, has a fiduciary interest in a health facility or other health agency or its affiliated entities, or has a material financial interest in the rendering of health services.

Board members are appointed by the Board of County Commissioners for a two-year term. The Council, as the designated local health planning agency, provides the following services related to the healthcare system: planning, research, consulting, policy work, advocacy, data collection and analysis, staff support, and education.
